First Night Fayetteville is a community celebration welcoming the New Year with family, friends and the arts. First Night originated in Boston in 1976 as an alternative way to mark the passage of time and promote the appreciation of the arts. Fayetteville has celebrated eleven New Years events since its inception in Northwest Arkansas.
Over 2200 people rang in the New Year at the Northwest Arkansas Mall and 500 to 700 additional people participated in our free outdoor music and visual art venues. This was First Night’s inaugural year at the central location and attracted new and returning attendees to the festivity.
